Creating Bene Points

Creating "Bene Points" has helped me save time when making videos. And here is how it works.

Bene Points in Replayed Memories
When replaying memories you can activate cheats you've unlocked. After activating a cheat the game will no longer save any progress you've made (to prevent you from using a cheat to easily get full synch for example). When you deactivate the cheat the game will transport you to the current replay, which is the checkpoint in which you first activated the cheat. This can really help in saving time if you wanted to do something in a certain part of a memory without having to restart the whole memory over again (as a video maker this has helped me a lot). It's just too bad the developers didn't think more on this or they could have used it to restart memories from any of the checkpoints.

Assassin's Creed III - Silent Extermination - Fort St-Mathieu

First, a request. I play this game through a Steam shortcut to get the Steam overlay in game, but the latest Uplay update unfortunately seems incompatible with the Steam overlay. If anyone knows a way of fixing this without cracking the game, please tell me.

This was another extremely challenging run, but one without compromises. SSI is on again, for the same reason as before, and it doesn't give me any real advantage. I would have had to wait for the Captain to come around again before moving to kill the pair of soldiers at 4:45 to stay safe, but that would have been the only big change.

Hi everyone, welcome to my speedrun of Assassin's Creed Revelations DLC, The Lost Archive. It was meant to be a single-segment 100% run, but it's finally individual levels.

A Silent Treatment for Garnier

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Asr18BJTaT4

In this video I take out all guards inside the Hospitalier fortress as well as most archers on the roof (I actually forgot one in the video, but that's a minor detail as killing him is trivial) before assassinating Garnier. I left the front gate guards as they were, because they're not really inside the fortress, and I truly believe taking them out anonymously is impossible. Besides, it looks pretty cool: all their buddies dead, behind their backs, and they don't even know how the assassin got in.

Assassin's Creed III - Silent Extermination - Fort Hill

Just a reposting of the second video in my Silent Extermination series, originally added to the thread for the first video here: http://www.thehiddenblade.com/taking-forts-perfect-stealth-one-last-time.... Separate postings are better for organization, so I'll be doing all future videos this way. I'm already working on the next one.

Taking the Forts with Perfect Stealth One Last Time: Silent Exterminations

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ6EQqlfUBU

(promoted to the front page by Lisa)

It's been a little while, hasn't it?

After completing perfect stealth pacifist runs of every Fort using only fists I decided to try the opposite of pacifism. For this final challenge I'll kill every single enemy within the walls of the Forts (literally within the walls, since there are often many enemies outside but still in the restricted zone that would be extremely tedious or impossible to kill under my restrictions) using only the Hidden Blades except where absolutely necessary, and to make things even sweeter I'll save the Captains for last. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do every Fort, but I'll certainly try.

The first episode, Fort Washington, is here, and just like my previous videos on it it's a two-for-one deal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZ6EQqlfUBU

I don't think it's possible to do a Barehanded version of this challenge without relying heavily on Smoke Bombs, so I won't be trying that. Feel free to try to prove me wrong.

I'll keep this thread updated whenever I post a new video in this series. Enjoy!

Connor gets some peace and quiet at Bridewell

Like I promised Aurll... a video.

For this video, I wanted to to see what would happen in later memories in Bridewell prison if I killed all the guards and prisoners early on. As you can imagine, this takes some time (hence the sped up video... it appears I'm getting better at this). Some notes - white text is meant to be Ratonhnhaké:ton's inner monologue; yellow for actual speech.

First, I killed everyone on a "restart from checkpoint." Otherwise, the guards that escort you down the stairs are roaming around. If you restart the "steal the key" mission, these two guards don't spawn. Problem 1 solved.

Secondly, you have to manipulate the directions some guards are looking before killing others or you'll be detected. To do this, get them to push you. The guard on the bridge on the top floor can detect the kill on the second floor, that's why I changed floors there.

Third, to kill civilians in this game with no penalty, equip bare hands and lock onto them to strangle them... as you are in prison, you don't have to worry about the weapon thing. Once a few people die, the prisoners run around. This causes them to bunch at the stairs. (This was the first time the bunched on the lower stairs. In my previous attempts, they always bunched on the upper stairs). Just approach them, hit the lock button, and mash the attack button until you're content.

Finally, I wanted to show the prison after this occurs. None of the incapacitated guards nor prisoners respawn. It's eerie, because (although not in the video) the sound of them all is there, just not the character models. This makes it really easy to find Mason, though. In addition, it makes it really easy to find out who you are going to need to fight.

Air to Assassinate from the Same Height

Air to Assassinate from the same Height
In AC1 the air to assassinate move isn't as simple as the push of a button. In some cases you have to be locked on and/or in high profile. But here's something you don't know. It can be done from the same height as the character being assassinated.

Here are the basics:
1. Stand by the edge of a platform/roof/anything with the option to drop.
2. Lock onto the character you will assassinate.
3. Move in high profile while facing the edge.
The option to assassinate should appear on the HUD. This is a bit different from the regular high profile assassinate because it can be done from farther away and the camera angle changes right after Altair jumps.

Talal
Here's a good example for this air to assassinate move (and also my first video on this target). First a few things. After fighting all the guards in the warehouse you can lock onto Talal, and after climbing on a short platform, throw knives at him. He will react with an exclamation, but make no effort to run away (he even walks back to the spot he was standing on). Also you can shimmy from the ladder to where the target is, only a few meters away when the scene starts.

Now for the parallel air to assassinate move. In the first scene Talal is so far away that the kill fails, with Altair bumping into Talal. Luckily it stops him for a regular kill. The second scene goes much smoother.

"Meet Me in the Afterlife" - Haytham Kenway's Early Death

http://youtu.be/WNSR_0CZiTQ
[Front-paged. -stabguy]

Haytham Kenway's Early Death
After the last scene in the memory, you have to save Haytham, resulting in a fight. Here's a way to avoid being detected. You'll need to have purchased the gun that shoots three bullets at once. With it you can take out all three of the men holding Haytham captive at once, avoiding detection.

After that the other soldier targets appear, but since you are anonymous they won't attack on sight. Kill four of them, using poison to avoid detection. Make sure you called a horse to replenish the poison (crafted saddle bags required).

After the four other guards die, Haytham will run away. Put him between you and one of the guards. As long as the guard can be targeted, you can throw the poison. Guess what? Haytham is affected by the poison! Of course you shouldn't use the poison too early, or you will desynch shortly afterward. Wait for the four guards to die first. A good time is when Haytham starts talking. Shortly afterwards the game doesn't record his health and he runs away.
