You can make a TON of money on Kenway's fleet if you capture a couple man o' wars.

I keep getting back up to ~10K with ease taking down Schooners and looting chests. I just got kenway's fleet, so I only have low level missions. Although I did add another Brig to my group.

Does anyone else have issues with guards spawning randomly in front of you? This happens to me quite a bit in plantations when I'm trying to be stealthy and I'll move to take out a single guard and, as I step out into the open and approach from behind him, I see the little blue zigzag lines and a guard spawns, looking directly at me, and detects me.

This was a particular problem in S05M03 when

Spoiler: Highlight to view
I was trying to approach Prins's manor and kept getting detected by guards I couldn't possibly prepare for

I'm hoping this is a problem confined to me and that others haven't experienced it.

Slowly, but surely, the job gets done.

I have had it too a couple of times. Usually on plantations. Like you said, it can be pretty frustrated when you try to be sneaky and the game throws a random guard in your face that you hadn't accounted for.

Didn't think that would be a big issue on the new gen of systems... lame.

I know this topic is long dead, but I got one more question before I buy the game. What is the length of the sequences? They're like in brotherhood (Short), where you got 1 or 2 small missions, and then assassination, or there is more depth to each sequence?

It varies, but I'd say each sequence has a good amount of depth. It reminded me of AC2's pacing.

Not sure where to post this, but this thread seemed appropriate.

Does anyone know whether Abstergo Challenges reset when you start a new game, or is it just linked to your account and they can only be completed once?

nvm, I had to download a patch in order to check and I did.
The answer is they reset, but there are some that complete automatically because they're linked to your account (collect a treasure map, own 5 different figureheads)

More about stealth boarding ships. There are parts in the game it can be done, which gives less worry about upgrading the Jackdaw. I've experimented with escaping from naval fights, hiding, and from there getting on board.

First I tried that in sequence 8 memory 1. It wouldn't let me release the wheel even after becoming anonymous, so no luck there. But in the next memory, where you go after the slaver ship I could after hiding behind a small island and becoming anonymous. The Royal African Co. followed, but since I was no longer piloting it made no attempt to attack the Jackdaw and just moved around in a small circle. Getting on it was a little tricky because if your close enough to be detected while swimming it fires at you unless you go into dive. It did move close to the Jackdaw during its circuit, but I sucked at jumping off at the right moment. Eventually I managed to get close enough in dive while it passed through and climbed on board.

While you guys are busy playing your fancy Unitys and Rogues, I got back into Black Flag because a cousin of mine got it recently. Anyway, I've been playing a lot of multiplayer (Wolfpack) and there's one challenge that seems difficult for me to complete. It's called 'The Inventive' and it's for killing or stunning targets by using the environment. That means your character grabs someone's head and smashes it against a wall or pole. My progress is at 11 kills right now and I have no idea how to perform a kill like this. It's kind of a long shot, but does anyone by any chance know how to get this done? In Wolfpack, I perform lots of kills near walls, but I end up doing a standard kill every time. Are there any special conditions that I'm overlooking? Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried blending in a group so that your back is facing a wall/pole/table? Next time there's a target/group of targets that are in a standing blended group, blend in for a second and it should work. I'd do it on accident many times. It'll happen eventually.
