I want to buy a laptop that has 3GB of RAM with a 250 or 320GB hard drive in the £300-£400 ($474-$633 apparently) price range, I want the best value for money, anyone have any good experience or any advice for a laptop like this? I will be looking for advice on a proper tech/ laptop forum as well, just thought of asking you guys first.

Thanks to SBIzokronus for the fantastic sig!

I recently bought a netbook with about 1.61 Gigs of Ram and a 250 GB hard drive. I love this thing, it's so portable and easy to use, and the Windows 7 operating system is so much more dynamic than Mac OS X. Joe, if you're ever considering getting a netbook, go with the Toshiba Netbook. I got an awesome deal from Best Buy where it only cost me $299 and I got a free Toshiba disk drive (that's essentially a $600 value that I got for half).
