Possible game-breaking glitches

There was some discussion this morning over on GameFAQs about 2 possible game-breakers:

1) If you enter a tunnel and pick a location (somehow) in an area that isn't open yet, Ezio will just desynch but the game will reset him to the exact same tunnel, resulting in another desynch, and so on and so on.

2) At some point if you decide to leave the Animus and read e-mails or whatever, some people have been unable to return to the Animus. They have Desmond sit down in the chair and nothing happens.

I guess with the tunnels, just renovate as many as you can get to before using them. Or, try using a tunnel as early as you possibly can so if you do hit this glitch, starting a new game won't be such a pain.

Thanks for the heads up with these glitches. I'll be sure to try and avoid them once I start playing. I experienced having to replay the whole of ACII and, while largely enjoyable, it did get slightly annoying at times Tongue

I was reading the PS3 boards a bit and saw a number of posts about glitches. There are also issues with people not getting trophies and lots of multiplayer problems. And the screen tearing is back in full effect, just like I thought it would be. Wink

Looks like once again they overstated the quality of the PS3 version. The 360 version has none of those issues and apparently has better lighting and shadows too. They didn't spend nearly enough time tuning the PS3 version, as was the case with AC1 and AC2. I guess the third time isn't a charm. Tongue

Well thats shit :S

Although the early reviews and ratings give both platforms the same score, there's clearly still issues. Seeing as I've never played AC on 360, I probably won't notice the problems too much but I hate the though that my experience of the game may not be as good as someone elses Sad

I have yet to see a game that gets separate scores in a review for the 360 and the PS3. Most reviewers are lazy so they just group them together.

I haven't start the campaign yet... though I think there is a possible solution ( stay offline on PSN) (not sure about 360 Live) while playing singleplayer....

I've had issues with AC2 also but when I Signed out I no longer had any problems i.e. freezing or game glitches...
Also I do know this game was finished in 10 months soo I wouldn't be surprised Ubisoft made some mistakes....

Multiplayer has been working fine for me though Smile

On wikipedia many of the scores shown from various sites have separate ones for ps3 and 360, although many do indeed group them. Tbh, it's disappointing they haven't tuned the ps3 version but at the end of the day a great game is a great game. I had very few issues in ACI and ACII (although how my experience differed from others' I have no idea) so I still think I'll absolutely love AC:B. I'm guessing an early patch may sort out a few of the issues but, yes, it does appear that the devs haven't exactly been truthful when describing the ps3 version. I'm hopefully getting the game today so will just have to see, I guess...

This shouldn't make any difference. If it does, that's extremely sloppy programming. Not sure how or why net code would be accessed during a single-player game, or why it would even have any to begin with. The Xbox Live-related stuff like friend online and message notices is handled entirely by the (separate) dash process so there shouldn't be any correlation.

Whatever the cause, if being online affects your gameplay you might want to check your NAT/router settings. Make sure all the appropriate ports are forwarded, etc. I would wager that this would solve the issues. But if it doesn't, worst case, just sign out like you were doing. Smile

Games like inFamous or Heavy Rain never had issues while on PSN... Although I remember having freezing issues on AC2 a early this year with "The Golden Mask" Sequence 9 where you enter carnival games to "win the golden mask." So what I did was looked on the PSN Forums...

http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Games/Assassin-s-Cr...

Then after my searching... Someone said that the "Golden Mask problem" no longer happens when you are signed off....

Although haven't had any problems on ACB yet.... Innocent
