Pay attention to what extras are given for pre-orders in your country.

I went and looked around (I'm from the Netherlands as well). If you've ordered from Free Record Shop, you ought to be getting a SP skin plus two MP characters, as well as the soundtrack.
Then there's the Collector's Edition, which also has Embers and a concept artbook. Last is the Animus edition, which includes another MP character, an extra mission for SP, more weapon stuff, and more importantly, the encyclopedia.

Considering the price of the game alone (€60) and the price of the encyclopedia alone ($35, about €25), I consider the Animus Edition (€100) pretty great value, since the extra mission, skins, artbook and Embers DVD are paid for with €5. Actual discount. Tongue
If you're not interested in the Encyclopedia, I'd say order the regular version. The CE has an extra mission (Vlad the Impaler), 2 characters, the soundtrack, the artbook and Embers and costs €80, which is €20 more than the regular edition, so in essence you're paying €20 for a mission, the soundtrack (which you will hardly ever use), the artbook (which you will hardly ever look into) and Embers (which probably will be lying around on the internet very soon after the release). Shit value for money, IMO.

I may just have talked myself into buying the Animus edition. xD

Added a little bit to my post discussion the advantages for each edition.

Bol doesn't note any pre-order upgrades at all. Are you sure you're getting an upgrade?

I preordered a copy of the Animus Edition and decided to sell some on eBay to pay for my own copy. I preordered 2 more and have sold 3. Now they've sold on UbiShop out so I don't have one for myself! Tongue

Ah well, I'm not too bothered. I need to save money for a holiday next summer so I think I'll just ask for the standard edition for Christmas Smile

EDIT: F*ck it. Just found out that GameStop UK are selling the Animus Edition too and have it available so I'm preordering another one for myself! Big smile
