Assassin's Creed II

the beginning of the game

when we first pop in the game Desmond does a little "previously on Assassins Creed" thing and is then gretted by Lucy
She has blood on her shirt and says somehing along the line of "We have maybe 10 minutes before the figure out what i've done"

what did she do?
and how long has it been since the end of the first game really?
she must have had time to first change her shirt and then more time to get it bloody.

at first i thought it was Vidic's blood but he appears uninjured at the end so who's is it?

AC2 download content in January and February

Great news.

IGN got some details wrong and it sounds like the info they have is mostly speculation. Hopefully we will receive an official (and detailed) announcement from Ubisoft.

I imagine that this new content will come already merged with the PC version, but there is no confirmation on this yet.

Moves & Skills List

(Promoted from the forums to the front page - stabguy)

Here is a full list of the game's moves and skills, sorted by when Ezio acquires them.

Keep in mind that some skills may be used before "learning" them in a particular mission. The order of this list is based on the point at which Ezio can first use the skill, not when he receives official instruction.

non-assassination of francesco salviati

this is one of the "where is jacopo" missions in sequence 5. its the one where the guy is in a walled compound wandering in his pajamas and carrying an axe. as you know, the best way to try an assassination mission again is to intentionally desynchronize. one time i did this by leaving the compound and fleeing. i figured the distance between ezio and the target would exceed some threshold and cause desync. then suddenly, a new objective appeared at the bottom of the screen.... something like "either assassinate francesco or escape from the battle". then suddenly the mission ended...

ac2 spoilers

Spoiler: Highlight to view
so altair and maria get busy on the tower in king richards citadel. after altair leaves, his point of view stays with maria, strongly suggesting that desmond is descended from altair and maria. we also know that desmond was raised as an assassin, so this strongly suggests that maria's child was raised as an assassin.

this strongly suggests that maria officially changes teams at some later point, or gives up the baby to be raised by assassins.

say... i wonder what happened to adha?

the bank

the bank was the only thing i upgraded in the villa when first presented the opportunity, since it says that it "greatly" adds value. when i later returned i found that some other shops were upgraded, but i didnt do it. i suspect that the bank is responsible, which truly makes it very cost effective.

funny weapons

i just read that brooms, fishing rods, rakes, garden hoes, broken spears can be used as weapons. havent confirmed any of it.

Echancing AC2's difficulty

(Also posted on AC Maps forum)

I'm going through my second playthrough (and creating save backups after each mission) and I'm not picking up any of the treasures or buying any weapons or armor. I want to have the ability to go armorless at any point in the game (well, just the leather greaves) and I want all the collectables to remain throughout all saves to aid with video making later on.

Ezio vs Vieri

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFgg0Ouoaeo

There's nothing particularly special about this video. I just liked the finishing animation. Evil

I figured I'd throw it on my YouTube account to pave the way for upcoming AC2 videos. Though they'll have to wait until I'm finished working on the interactive maps. Smile

The Hideout *MINOR SPOILERS*

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this yet, but the assassin hide-out Desmond and Lucy flees to after escaping Abstergo is in Italy, maybe even florence. There are large windows all around the hideout (which is infact a parking house). What's different about these windows compared to those in Abstergo from the first game is that you can actually see through them. It only takes one peak to see that the houses bears a considerable resemblance to... what? Florence! If that's not enough a sign on one of the walls in the hallway says "parcheggio" which is parking in italian.
