I've seen predictions made on other threads and wanted to centralize the communities predictions for ACIV. I'm talking about STORY predictions, not gameplay/mechanic predictions. The gameplay and mechanics angles have been discussed at length in EzioAltair's thread.

So here are my ACIV story predictions, which have been detailed elsewhere on this site:

1 - Achilles, from ACIII, will show up in ACIV. I think he will be a young member of Edward's crew. His age just about fits perfectly in ACIII for him to be something like 15-25 in ACIV.

2 - The Jackdaw is the same ship as the Aquila in ACIII. Achilles takes the Jackdaw to the homestead and renames it Aquila. I can be talked out of this prediction easily though, it is my least hard prediction.

3 - Woodes Rogers will be a Templar and major assassination target for Edward. Full write up here, but I'll retype the details. It's not really that surprising that Woodes Rogers would be in the game, as he was the first Royal Governor of the Bahamas (in Nassau), and Nassau is one of the three cities. In addition, he was a sea captain/privateer turned Royal Governer... other pirates, like Edward, can't be happy about that. Not only that, but as governor that sought to impose more local taxes on the Bahamas. When the governing assembly of the Bahamas rejected his ideas for a tax, he dissolved the assembly. In addition, he died in 1732... perfect timing for Edward to have done it.

Achilles is born in 1710, five years before the game starts (and doesn't join the Assassins til sometime in the 1730s). I doubt he'll be in the game except maybe as a cameo very late in the game.

I agree that if he shows up it will be late in the game. Maybe when Edward is winding down he grooms Achilles to take his spot/give him his ship.

I understand that the game starts around 1715. The Golden Age of Piracy went into the 1730s, so who knows when the game will end... probably in the early 1720s given that Haytham is born in the 1720s, I think, in England... so maybe Achilles doesn't show up until very late, but I would be disappointed if he didn't.

(Also, this prediction was made before much was known about ACIV. I just have to stand by it now.)

Damnit, I just contradicted myself... Edward will have moved to England in 1732 when Woodes Rogers dies... but, his ship was clearly in some gameplay trailer... so he'll be there for some reason.

But, to be fair, Vane and Teach (Blackbeard) team up in the 1710s to attempt to retake Nassau, and lots of other things, and he (Rogers) left Nassau in 1721 to go back to Britain and was imprisoned for debt etc etc etc. Maybe Edward has something to do with this rather than his death a decade later.

I think he spent a tad too long playing AC3...

Alright, because of timing, I'm amending my prediction...

Adewale is Edward's (black) first mate and also an Assassin. My prediction is that Achilles is Adewale's son (or maybe, brother) and might show up late in the game. But it makes more sense, maybe... I don't know.

EDIT: Being his son doesn't really work either, depending on Adewale's age. If Adewale is significantly older than Edward (10 years or so), then it would make sense... hmm... Also, Aveline is born in 1947... (at risk of a pseudo-racist comment because they are the first/only black main characters in the games) maybe she, Adewale and Achilles are all related somehow... doubt it...

I seriously doubt he's related to Achilles.
Also, didn't we know for sure that his only son was named Connor?

I expect AC4 to bring much more humour than AC3 did. Because of Connor's serious personality, there were not a lot of funny moments. The only ones were because of Haytham's sarcasm or Godfrey and Terry's fights. Edward's personality is more similar to Ezio's, if I'm correct, so I think he and his pirate buddies will provide some good laughs.

Connor often made a lot of things funny by virtue of being the "straight man" to more flamboyant characters. There were also many jokes made at his expense. : P

I always love when the consummate professional just tries to shrug off dumb jokes and bravado.

There were quite a few moments where Connor was just quietly amused at other people being idiots, which I enjoyed. His wry sense of humor is on best display during the frontiersman missions, particularly in the things he wrote about the "mysterious phenomena" he investigated.
