Huh. We used to have one. Did it disappear yesterday when I upgraded the site? The image file is still available:

Oops. I was working on the problem and may have marked this comment as read for everyone else. Bumped.

At the top of the forums where it says "Post new Forum topic" and "Post new Poll", didn't those used to be buttons? I suspect it's related to the "Mark All Read" button disappearing.

There's been a "new post" in Site Suggestions for a couple days, but I can't find it, so it keeps showing me "1 new!". Perhaps related?

Not sure if this is related. When I went to create content, I was greeted with this near the top of the screen:

strict warning: Declaration of views_handler_filter_node_status::operator_form() should be compatible with views_handler_filter::operator_form(&$form, &$form_state) in /usr/home/dotc/public_html/hiddenblade/sites/all/modules/views/modules/node/views_handler_filter_node_status.inc on line 13.

Fixed (I think). This is related to something else - the error Cheese pointed out that led me to upgrade Drupal in the first place.

I think what happened was that our web hosting service upgraded PHP and Drupal 6 just doesn't comply with the new stricter rules. I'm considering a major upgrade to Drupal 7 because the minor upgrades aren't getting the job done. Another option would be to downgrade PHP locally (i.e. just for this site).

Update: I see a couple more alternatives. There's a development branch of the Drupal 6 Views module specifically designed for compatibility with newer versions of PHP. Also, there's a way to simply turn off these warning messages.

When I tried to start a new forum topic today:

warning: Creating default object from empty value in /usr/home/dotc/public_html/hiddenblade/modules/forum/forum.module on line 219.

Hum... I don't see the "mark all read" in "recent posts" > "all recent posts". Also here's what I get when I click on "my recent posts" : http://imgur.com/0SDmLYa

Sorry for all the trouble...

There's a Mark All Read button for all forums and for each individual forum. Did there used to be one on the Recent Posts page too?

Cheese opened another topic about this. I'm still investigating what to do about it.

The more I look at it the more convinced I become that we didn't have a Mark All Read on the Recent Posts page. Our Mark All Read is a feature of the advanced forum module (contributed by Michelle) whereas Recent Posts is part of the Drupal core. It shows things that aren't necessarily in the forums, such as comments on front page stories and updates to the maps pages.

In 2003 someone requested a Mark All Read feature for Recent Posts. There was some discussion about it until 2014 when a Drupal board member commented, "11 years later, doesn't look like this is going to happen."

How dumb I am, it's in the general forum page. Nevermind!
