There is a bug both funny and useful allowing finishers inside a kill streak to exceed their normal range limitations. Usually if the next enemy you target is too far away your streak will simply stop and nothing will happen.

This can be prevented by carrying an empty ranged weapon capable to do double kills as for example rope darts. By "empty" I mean you dont have any resources left so you are equipping rope darts although you dont have any left or you equip your pistols without having ammo.

Now if you use the tool button inside a kill streak instead of the attack button the finishers will work at any range an enemy is still considered to be participating the current battle.
This works because using the tool button with such a weapon usually triggers a double kill whose range is limitless. You dont get to see that a whole lot as in most cases using the tool button on an enemy out of range will stop the streak and trigger an offensive attack such as shooting.

However, if youre tool is empty the tool button will trigger the same standard finishers that the attack button does only maintaining the distance advantage.

Sounds like it would be funny. Could you post a video here?

You won't even feel the blade.

Hi, mees. In fact, I have published this glitch on my YouTube channel. But as far as I know, it does not seem ready to be used, because the mechanism will gives priority to closer and highlighted the targets, so it seems that only in some specific conditions can be workable. Please check my video, maybe you have a better way to use it.

Well I have posted an expert combat video tutorial a while ago, but as nobody cared(either for ac4 or for my channel being most unimportant) I deleted it. Theres more to it than just the range glitch...You have to position yourself properly and understand when kill streaks stop and when they do not to fight most aggressively.

We all know ac3 combat is easy and doesnt let you die so its about speed and flawless gameplay. In order to practice - quick travel to the north west "frontier" point in new york where all the grenadiers reside. Theres another group with an officer, all those make up for a huge battle. If you are as far as I am, you will take everyone down in pess than a minute without getting hit.

As the request did suddenly spawn I will post a combat video with a decent description in a day or 2.

On a side note: I dont get how the glitch aint "ready to use". The bad selection of enemies and being forced to engage the highlighted one is always the case and due to a senseless game mechanic. However, this "trick" has no disadvantage -not even a difference- compared to the default attack button mashing. Equip an empty tool and mash the tool button instead with the only difference that your streak lives on in situations where it usually stops.

You actually answered it yourself. As the game often highlights the next target you often attack a ranged enemy, so keeping the streak in that case you gotta change the basic strategy and always tool streak rather than blade streak. If youre just curios to see a ridiculous range kill, try triggering human shield inside a streak and engage the shooting guards after that. I can do a video about it it looks absolutely weird.

Thanks for your suggestion, but sorry, I'm not really enjoy this combat system in AC3. If you know some special tricks, please provide it up here, we'll be glad to know. Smile
