"I'm not an assassin, atleast not anymore" is a phase I heard Desmond say in the first game, the Templar guy says "you are an a assassin" but how can Desmond be an assaSsin if he haven't even gotten training yet? Is this wrong?

He was raised an assassin, but he ran away when he was 16.

He at least got some training as a child, but ran away at 16 like al-Assas said. He thought it was too crazy of a group and didn't know the reasons of why it was so important.
