So apparently Desmond's a better fighter at the beginning than I thought.
I just started a new replay to get ready for Bonfire of the Vanities.
I didn't know that Desmond can perform combo kills at that point, but apparently he can. Specifically, I attacked one Abstergo guard and he pulled off the ear clap, knee to face combo animation. Definitely surprising.
Has anyone else managed to do combo kills at that point in the game?
Yeah, I did it first time through. Des doesn't actually learn any hand to hand fighting skills while in the animus as far as I can tell.

I discovered this during Eagle's Bruise, as I performed not only the ear-clap, but the arm-break-sweep and the chokeslam as well.

I dont think he can counter, well that or my timing was way off for each one
He cannot counter in the first fight, but in the final fight he's got everything Ezio can do.

I think his timing is a bit different than it is for Ezio. And it seems almost more random.

I got bored and decided to click page 9 on the Recent posts and I thought this was interesting.

I did in my second playthrough, thou it was kind of an accident, I think he can perfom counter attacks as well.
