Bernardo and Stefano: There is No Stairs

The method of assassination in this video is "There is No Spoon". I use it on the targets Bernardo Baroncelli and Stefano da Bagnone by placing them on a flight of stairs and getting far enough away that the stairs are no longer modeled in the game, causing the targets to fall through the floor and drown.

The goal in this video is to kill all of the guards and Stefano da Bagnone without being spotted at all (no yellow bars), and without hiring mercenaries. (There's a neat trick to using mercenaries on this mission, which I will show in my next video.) This is a difficult mission to design due to the large number of guard patrols in a small area. I rely heavily on timed movements to avoid detection and careful placement of dead body distractions, which disrupt the guard patrols.

Altair92's recent videos using the smoke bomb to cause targets to flee inspired me to revisit the first mission where I noticed this effect: Stefano da Bagnone. At the time, I couldn't find any interesting to do with the fact that he ran away - Ezio doesn't have a gun yet, and Stefano did nothing more than run along a path into the distance. But I recently found a particular mission design that causes Stefano to run in circles around the monastery. This gives an opportunity for a dynamic stunt, which is my favorite type of assassination, as many of you know.

To perform this stunt you have to lure the target to a certain spot with a dead body. Then you can do a mini eagle strike (not as high as an eagle strike should be but high enough that the fall will kill you). Of course you could kill him anytime when he's out in the open but what could be cooler than jumping from the tallest spot in the abbey?

The goal is to poison the Pazzi conspirators of Sequence 5 and escape, without being seen at any time (no yellow bars).

Equestrian-Assisted Blitz Assassination
This isn't the fastest way to kill Stefano. But it sure is fun. Dismount over the disguised guards to avoid detection. One guard was bowled over by the horse during the dismount. Since Ezio wasn't on the horse at the time of the collision, he remains Anonymous afterward.
