Anyone working on a speed run of this?

Just wondering if anyone has or is working on speedrunning this game. I am thinking about trying it out. I know some of the tricks in it but basically starting from scratch if anyone wants to help or has ideas. Big smile

AC4BF: The low synch run

I'm currently doing a low synch run in AC4, based on the original idea for a low synch run in AC3, by Slembroccoli.

Since only failing the main missions optional objective seems to easy to me, I decided to include the Abstergo Challenges. These don't add anything to the final synchronization score, but I wanted to have some sort of extra challenge. Basically, the goal is to play to the end of the storyline (I intend to continue until after the credits), failing all the optional objectives the game throws at me, and trying to complete as few Abstergo Challenges as possible. Without even starting, I already completed two of those: 'own 5 different figureheads' and 'collect a treasure map'.

Anyway, you may speculate what my total synchronization will turn out to be, and how many Abstergo Challenges I managed to avoid/how few I completed. (Looking at you McStab, you were pretty close with the AC3 one.)

AC4: PS3 or PS4?

I didn't get AC4 yet (yes, I know it has been 6 months from it's release) and I really want to buy it but I'm not sure if I should buy it now for my PS3, or wait till I get the PS4 (I hope I'll buy it later this year). The reason I'm not buying it now, is cause AC3 on the PS3 wasn't very good, the FPS constantly dropped below 30. And with the improved graphics of AC4, I'm afraid it will be even worse. So the guys that are playing or have played AC4 on the PS3, is it really bad or it's not that noticeable?

Full Animus Database Sync Issues

So I've completed the game at 100%, but my database is only 97% full, apparently. Any idea what I might be missing?

I am pretty positive the white whale is still outstanding, seeing as how I haven't harpooned one, but I think I've gotten every other animal. I can't imagine I wouldn't have visited every single location in the game, plus I've also hacked every computer and grabbed every sticky note outside of the animus.

Did anyone else run into this problem and, if so, what did you do to fix it?

Thanks.

Does This Count?

I was attempting to recreate a previous video, but smoother, when my failure turned into a classic THB exploit: There is No Spoon. I'm not sure if this actually counts as a legitimate attempt, but either way, I'm proud of it.

Fastest Consecutive Deaths?

I only ask because I had a fun little sequence happen to me this weekend where I began by doing something we've all done, which is to push the joystick in the wrong direction while attempting a Leap of Faith off a viewpoint and jumped to my death.

Optional Objectives Issues?

I am, as per my name, playing this game at an incredibly slow pace. Literally, I just killed Julien du Casse last night. I am loving the game as well, I really enjoy being on the open water and having so much to explore. That being said, the single worst feature of the game is the total inconsistencies with the displaying of the optional objectives during missions.

Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry Releasing As Standalone Title [Source: IGN]

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/02/05/assassins-creed-4-freedom-cry-rele...

Ubisoft has announced Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's Freedom Cry DLC will be released as a standalone title.

Freedom Cry will be available via download on PS4 and PS3 from February 18 in North America and February 19 in Europe, with a PC version on the way on February 25. The fact it's standalone means you won't need to buy Black Flag in order to play it, and both versions will cost $14.99.

DAZ's AC3 and IV Endings

I've just got to get it out there, I had some endings that I would have liked to see for AC3 and IV. Standard spoiler warnings apply. Still, I hope Ubisoft at least does something similar to this because when I thought of these I was pretty excited. Granted, it's easy for me to make myself excited but here we go.

I'm only 9 minutes in, but he's made a lot of good points about the malleability of the creed and how different assassins interpret it.

Some things I've tried to articulate before but never put so neatly.
